Q1 What is Materials List (ML)?
A1 Materials List (ML) is a database managed by HDB's Building Technology
Department where information on suppliers and their products are recorded
and maintained.
Q2 What is the main objective of maintaining the Materials List (ML)?
A2 Primarily, it is to ensure that products used are able to meet HDB's
requirements. This is achieved through screening of products and suppliers
and a stringent process of product appraisal and sampling at site.
Q3 How can a product be listed ?
A3 A product can be listed if it meets HDB and the product's technical
requirements. These requirements are available in the following website:
http://www.eptc.sg.
Q4 How do I submit my application?
A4 Application can only be submitted online through Building Technology
Department's website at http://www.eptc.sg
Q5 Are there any fees for applying to list in ML?
A5 Presently, there are no charges for listing in HDB's Materials List (ML)
Q6 What products are listed in ML?
A6 In general, the products listed are those important in projects
undertaken by HDB. However, some products that are seldom used or used in
small quantities, do not need to be listed. These products will be evaluated
by
the specific project consultant.
Q7 What are the product sections?
A7 The products are divided into 8 broad sections namely: -
i) Architectural
ii) Civil, Infrastructure
iii) Structural
iv) Envionmental Sustainability & Universal Design
v) Electrical
vi) Mechanical
vii) Lift
viii) Safety Equipment & Machinery

Q9 What are the documents I must attach?
A9 The following documents are to be attached:
- Company business profile from the Accounting And Corporate Regulatory Authority,
showing the business registration, paid-up capital, names of director(s) /
partner(s), etc.
- Track record of supply
- Letters of reference from source / principal / manufacturer
- Test reports by Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) laboratories
- Catalogues / Brochures/ Technical specifications
- Drawings /Samples / Digital Images
- Relevant quality certification (e.g. ENV, EMA, etc.)
Q10 How long will my product be listed in ML?
A10 It depends on whether the product is ISO 9000/01 certified. If the product
is
manufactured in a factory, which is ISO 9000/01 certified, then listing is for
3
years. Otherwise, listing is for 2 years.
